Main body of show:
Elektra: we went to Reading festival at the weekend and spoke to some various festival goers. Everyone seemed to be having a fab time.
*Utterances of agreement*
Elektra: Ah did you see Jess Glynne last night
Lex: yeah she was so sick as always i took some good pics
Elektra: Oh yeah pictures of her set and reading day 1 are all on the electric noise website if anyone wants to check them out. Tweet me some of your pics too I wanna see what everyones days were like.
We also spoke to some of the working people at reading
*Greenpeace volunteer speech*
Lex: I don't think i would want to be working a festival but he sounded like he was having a great time.
Elektra: well what a great cause though, last year's reading festival returned 250,000 plastic bottles and cups, how brilliant is that.
Lex: woahhh
Elektra: every little definitely does help
Lex: mmm
Elektra: we also have the very beautiful, highly recommended Dollondon coming on at the end of the show to talk about what she's been up to recently
Lex: oooo
Elektra: She gets chatting about the Baywatch stars and what they get up to when they aren't filming.
Dollondon:
Elektra: Dollondon welcome how does it feel to be the first guest of electric noise?
Doll: hi wow i'm super excited. there's a lot of things going on right now. i've got my new album coming out, i'm creating the soundtrack for Baywatch 2 with Zac Efron and Alexandra Daddario, i'm sure you have all seen the first one
Elektra: that's so exciting. we will be listening to your new single Hot Mess at the end of the show so stay tuned guys! What was it like working with the Baywatch stars?
Doll: it's always a laugh. everyone's cool, i'm really good friends with the Rock and we just pull pranks on everyone.
Doll: Zac has a major fear of snakes if you didn't know that already and part of a scene featured some Australian Pythons so we just let them loose in his trailer. I can't pretend there weren't any tears haha.
Elektra: Poor Zac, thought he would be tougher than that! I know everyone's really excited to listen to Hot Mess, shall we have a little feature of your new song now?
Doll: Yeah go for it. I hope you all like it. Thanks for having me on here.
Michael Harvey:
Hey, we're here with Michael Harvey, the owner and founder of Rize festival. This is the first man to introduce recyclable and disposable packaging at festivals. How are you today?
Michael: Very well, very excited thanks.
Elektra: So we have some questions that we wanted to ask you and we have chosen one question that the audience has sent in via Twitter that they want to ask.
Michael: Brilliant:
Elektra: So what made you want to decrease the use of plastic at festivals?
Michael: Well, throughout my career, I have performed at lots of festivals and always seen the aftermath. Lots of rubbish, abandoned tents and plastic packaging everywhere. After understanding how much plastic affects the environment, I wanted to do something to help.
Elektra: You have had a very extensive career, travelling all around the world performing with various bands. Is this the first event you have been to with environmentally friendly aspects?
Michael: Well obviously with the increase of campaigns against plastic, more people are resorting to using paper packaging and paper straws, but I have never seen a whole festival against plastic, because it is so hard to do.
Elektra: How did you manage to do this so well and in such a short time, from V festival ending to Rize festival beginning?
Michael: I have had a good team around me. Working alongside Shields Environmental, I was sure we could do it.
Elektra: And we have a question that was sent in via Twitter from Sammy Brand, he wants to know if you could give us a sneak peak of next year's Rize Festival, what artists can we expect to see?
Michael: Haha errr we have some artists lined up but we are introducing some new stages next year, such as the Dance Party Stage and the Throwback stage so get excited to see some new artists as well as old.
Elektra: Oooo, exciting, good luck for next year, will hopefully hear from you before then with another eco-friendly breakthrough !! Next week, our guest is Richard Madden, actor best known for Game of Thrones and the Bodyguard. Post your questions to Twitter using the hashtag #electricnoiseqanda and we could choose your question to ask Richard Madden.
These are rough scripts for some interviews that would feature in the show, however I also recorded more general discussions to allow the show to flow which weren't scripted so they would come across more naturally.
